A New Hampshire woman recently went viral after sharing the story behind her daughter’s name. Jules and her husband, Corey, named their baby daughter Senna, inspired by Formula One legend Ayrton Senna. However, it wasn’t until later that Jules realized the true origin of the name.
In March, Jules posted a TikTok video showing her daughter playing a racing video game with her dad, accompanied by a caption revealing how Corey had convinced her to name their daughter after the famous F1 driver, without initially telling her. The video quickly gained over 1.6 million views and 75,000 likes.
Jules explained that in 2020, before they were pregnant, Corey suggested the name, and she assumed it was from the Twilight series. After a few weeks, Corey admitted it was inspired by Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian F1 driver who tragically died in 1994. Rather than being upset, Jules grew fascinated with his legacy.
Despite some jokes about the name’s associations, including one from a nurse who called it a “laxative,” the couple is happy with their choice. Senna remains a unique name, not ranking among the top 100 girls’ names in the U.S. in 2023.
